EMS licensing requirements suspended for fire deparments

The state Office of Emergency Medical Services will file an emergency amendment to temporarily suspend EMS licensing requirements for fire departments during the COVID-19 pandemic. Fire departments will be allowed to operate under an affiliation agreement with an EMS agency to provide emergency services.

Courtney Wallace pleaded guilty to two charges in connection to a bizarre St. Albans murder where a woman was stabbed to death and sexually abused. WVEA challenging color-coded alert map

The West Virginia Education Association say it will file an injunction in Kanawha County Circuit Court challenging changes made to the state’s color-coded county alert map. The teachers union is questioning whether continued changes to the map have compromised the safety of students and employees in public schools.

Absentee ballot deadline is Oct. 28th

More than 94-thousand absentee ballots are being requested in West Virginia. The Secretary of State’s Office says more than 90-percent have been sent to voters. The deadline to request an absentee ballot is October 28th.

Trump says mailmen sold ballots in WV

During the presidential debate last night, President Trump claimed West Virginia mailmen sold ballots. Secretary of State Mac Warner has not reported any incidents of ballots being sold by mailmen. A Pendleton County mail carrier was charged with changing voter registration from Democrat to Republican on several absentee ballots in May.

Man accused of making terroristic threats

A Greenbrier man is accused of threatening to blow up a video gambling parlor if he didn’t get his winnings. Fifty-one-year-old Timothy Snead claimed he’d been there the night before and won big money. He’s charged with making terroristic threats.
