Patient tests negative for coronavirus

The Centers for Disease Control says the first coronavirus test in West Virginia is negative. Two other patients are being tested, and results are due back in a few days. There are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in West Virginia. The state will get around five-million-dollars from the CDC for coronavirus prevention and preparation.

Lowes employee charged with embezzlement

A Clarksburg Lowes employee is accused of stealing over six-thousand-dollars worth of merchandise. Thirty-nine-year-old Brian Barnes gave half of it away as Christmas gifts and kept the rest. Barnes is charged with embezzlement.

Man charged with shooting dog

A Fayette County man is under arrest for shooting a dog. Fifty-seven-year-old Michael Redman is charged with cruelty to animals and weapons possession charges, because he has a prior conviction and wasn’t supposed to have a gun. The dog survived.

Police searching for pursuit suspect

Kanawha County Sheriff’s Deputies tried to pull over a car in Sissonville when the driver took off and led them on a pursuit to North Arthur Drive in Charleston. The driver jumped out and fled on foot, and is still on the run. A passenger was taken into custody for outstanding warrants.
