Gordman’s Opens a New Logan Store

There are nine new Gordman’s across West Virginia now providing new job opportunities. In Logan, dozens gathered for the grand opening of Gordman’s Tuesday morning. Gordman’s also made a donation to Logan High School for a $1,000.

A Montgomery Highway Gets a Fix for a Rockslide

Highway crews blasted a hillside along U.S. 60 in Montgomery this week in an effort to prevent more rockslides. About a year ago a rockslide shut down two lanes on U.S. 60 and the debris remained until now. The state helped fund the cost for the fix.

WV coronavirus threat remains low

West Virginia has one coronavirus test kit, which would be enough to test several hundred patients. There are no confirmed COVID-19 cases in West Virginia, and health officials say the risk remains low. More test kits are on the way.

Judges pay raise cut in half

A pay raise for West Virginia judges has been cut in half. The House Finance Committee replaced a Senate bill, trimming the raises from over 20-percent to ten-percent over two years.

Lawsuit filed in suspicious VA deaths

The first lawsuit has been filed in the suspicious deaths at the Clarksburg VA Medical Center. The estate of Vietnam Vet Sergeant Felix McDermott filed the suit against the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. McDermott died from an insulin overdose, and his death has been ruled a homicide. Two kids hurt in school bus crash

Two kids were hurt when a van crashed into their school bus in the Beards Fork area of Fayette County. Fourteen children were on the bus, and two suffered minor injuries. The van driver took off, and was found a few miles away near Wriston. The 24-year-old driver is facing charges.

Tri-State tornado drills

Annual statewide tornado drills will be held this month across the tri-state area. Counties in Kentucky will test their system this morning. West Virginia will hold its statewide drill on March 17th and Ohio on March 25th. The drills are part of “Severe Weather Awareness Week” in each state.
