News Staff The Kanawha County Commission is opposing the state Senate’s tax proposal. The commission says eliminating property tax on machinery and equipment, and increasing sales tax, will hurt local governments. Commissioners say the county stands to lose over 20-million-dollars in revenue.
The Kanawha County Commission is planning to stock a thousand pounds of rainbow trout in the Elk River this weekend. The Indian Lake fish hatchery will provide the trout. It’s the third trout stock in less than six months.
