ACLU accuses Morrisey of violating First Amendment

The West Virginia chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union is accusing state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey of blocking critics on social media in violation of the First Amendment. Morrisey’s office says it does not block anyone on government controlled social media platforms.

Winter Weather advisory until 1 p.m.

Kanawha County schools are on a two hour delay today, and Cabell County schools are closed. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory until one o’clock this afternoon.

Hurricane Middle School threat “handled”

There will be an increased police presence at Hurricane Middle School today, out of an abundance of caution, after a potential threat was found on a bathroom door. Officials say the person who made the threat has been identified and detained.

Winter Weather Advisory Issued

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for much of the area Friday. The weather service says one to three inches are possible in some areas and up to six inches could be likely throughout central West Virginia. The advisory will be in effect until 1 p.m. Friday.

Kanawha County deputies said they have identified and arrested two suspects who broke into a storage facility in Rand last month. 26-year old Jeremy Wardlow of Rand and 22-year old Elizabeth Slider of Rand have been charged with breaking and entering.
