Final week to file for public office

The election filing deadline is fast approaching. This is the last week to file paperwork with the Secretary of State’s office to run for public office. Candidates have until midnight on Saturday the 25th.

Donated clothes left for needy in Huntingon park

An Ironton woman and her family are leaving donated clothing around Harris Riverfront Park; everything from Jackets, sweatshirts, blankets, and more were laid out on park benches and tables. Katy Myers says she hopes the clothes will be found by those that need them.

WV Senate approves pepper spray bill

The West Virginia Senate approved a bill that would allow pepper spray at the state Capitol building. The bill would exclude pepper spray from the state’s list of deadly weapons, and allow small canisters to be carried on Capitol grounds.

Man arrested for shooting niece’s husband

A Charleston man is under arrest for shooting his niece’s husband in the leg during an argument. Sixty-three-year-old Paul Parsons is charged with malicious wounding. The victim is hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Hundreds Attend Fallen Firefighter’s Service

Emergency workers from across the state gathered Saturday to pay their final respects to a fallen Roane County firefighter. Deputies Cleared in Fatal Shooting

Deputies were cleared of any wrongdoing in a shootout in West Virginia that killed a man. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office released surveillance video Thursday showing the New Year’s Eve shooting involving Michael Davis in Cross Lanes.
