The West Virginia State Museum will reopen July 7th. Capacity will be limited to just over fifty-people. Temperature checks, face masks, and social distancing wil be required.

WVU says there could be more furloughs

WVU says that depending on the university’s financial outlook, there could be more furloughs and pay cuts. Officials say they will give staff members a thirty-day notice prior to any changes. Nearly nine-hundred employees were furloughed in May.

Doctor sentenced to 5 years in prison on drug charges

A Charleston doctor will spend five year in prison for illegal drug distribution. Muhammed Samer Nasher-Alneam admitted to writing prescriptions for oxycodone and methadone that were not for legitimate medical purposes. He also agreed to permanently surrender his medical license.

WV American Water asking for rate hike

The Public Service Commission is considering a rate hike request from West Virginia American Water. The utility is planning to spend 50-million-dollars on infrastructure improvements, and want a more than six-percent increase. That would add about two-dollars-a-month to your bill.
