Twelve new cases of COVID-19 in WV

There are twelve new cases of COVID-19 in West Virginia, but the number of active cases went down, and the positive test rate is still below two percent. There are almost 26-hundred confirmed cases of the virus statewide.

WVU Defensive Coordinator, Vic Koenning, is on administrative leave, and is accused of mistreating a player. Former Capital High School standout Kerry Martin Jr. says Koenning used derogatory language, and brought up politics and religion during team meetings.

Deputy attacked during prisoner transport

A man is under arrest after a standoff in Boone County. The suspect attacked a deputy and escaped when was being transported to jail. He was taken into custody at a nearby house. He’s hospitalized in serious condition. Two officers were treated and released.

Car hits toddler in driveway

A one-year-old boy is recovering after he was hit by a car at his Westwood home. The little boy was playing in the yard when he ran into the driveway and was hit by a relative backing out of the driveway. He’s expected to be okay.

St. Albans seniors test positive for COVID-19

St. Albans High School is imposing some restrictions on its in-person graduation ceremony today after some seniors tested positive for COVID-19. They contracted the virus on a trip to Myrtle Beach. The students will not be allowed to attend the ceremony.

Primary Election is Costing Taxpayers More This Year

The Kanawha County Commission reports the 2020 primary election is about $150,000 more than the last presidential primary for the area.
