A second WVU football player has tested positive for COVID-19. The player will be in quarantine for fourteen-days. Other players who were exposed are self-quarantining. The football team began voluntary workouts on June 15.

Spectators can attend youth sporting events beginning today as part of Governor Justice’s reopening plan. Justice says there are going to be “rough seas” ahead, but he doesn’t think West Virginians are willing to lock themselves down, and the economy can’t handle it.

More COVID-19 cases are being linked to travel to Myrtle Beach. There are now twenty-six cases in Preston County. More than forty cases in six counties have been linked to the popular tourist destination.

More than half of new COVID-19 cases are in Kanawha County. There are thirteen new cases statewide, bringing the total to over 25-hundred. A 74-year-old Berkeley County woman has died, bringing the state’s death toll to 89.

Crowds gathered outside the Kanawha County Board of Education to rally for changing the name of Stonewall Jackson Middle School. The board will take up the name change at a meeting on July 6th.

Police are looking for an Ashland man who shot and wounded a 19-year-old woman during an argument. She got into a car and tried to leave when 20-year-old Dwayne Kemper shot into the vehicle. She’s in stable condition. Kemper is on the run.
