COVID-19 cases increase at churches

State health officials say there are more than twenty positive COVID-19 cases associated with churches in West Virginia since in-person services resumed. Governor Justice is encouraging social distancing by sitting in every other pew and wearing a mask.

COVID-19 cases increase by 14

There are fourteen new cases of COVID-19 in West Virginia, for a total of almost 22-hundred positive cases statewide. The death toll remains at 85, and the positive test rate is below two-percent.

Man charged with murder in house fire

A Raleigh County man is charged with murder after a woman was found dead in a house fire. Investigators found 44-year-old Joseph Davis with the woman’s car in Summers County. He was arrested after a standoff with police.

Supreme Court race too close to call

It might be next week before an official winner is declared for one of the seats on the state Supreme Court. Beckley attorney Bill Wooton holds a slim lead over Joanna Tabit with absentee votes still to be counted. Chief Justice Tim Armstead and Justice John Hutchison won their races on Tuesday.

Man is Arrested in Fayette County After a Hit-and-Run

Fayette County deputies said a man whose blood alcohol limited was twice the legal limit is charged in a hit-and-run incident after he sideswiped a vehicle and was pursued by the victim.
