City of Charleston facing $2 million shortfall

Charleston Mayor Amy Goodwin says the city is facing a two-million-dollar budget shortfall. The city has made cuts, hiring freezes are in place, and travel has been stopped. Goodwin is hopeful federal funding from the CARES Act will help.

Man killed over noisy rooster

A Mercer County man is accused of killing an elderly man whose body was found outside his Lashmeet home. Forty-seven-year-old Richard Ellison was upset about a rooster making noise, and said Lucifer told him to do it. Ellison is charged with second-degree murder.

Two suspects wanted in murder & arson

Police are looking for two suspects in connection to a murder and arson in Williamson. A third man, 32-year-old James Church is in custody. The three are accused of killing the man and starting the fire to cover up the crime.

WV DMV offering appointments

The West Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles will offer appointments for services that have to be done in person. These services include transferring out-of-state driver’s licenses, issuing an original identification card, reissuing an ID card or driver’s license with changes, driver knowledge exams and salesperson knowledge exams.
