Kroger to Pay Bonuses

Kroger is giving thank-you bonuses to hourly workers on the frontline. The one-time bonuses are $400 for full-time workers and $200 for part-time workers. Kroger employs nearly 3,000 people in West Virginia.

Charleston looking for ways to expand outdoor dining

The City of Charleston is looking for ways to expand outdoor dining space along sidewalks. They are trying to provide more space outside to compensate for the limited capacity that will be allowed inside when restrictions are lifted. Officials hope to have a plan in place in time for Memorial Day Weekend.

Parks allowed to reopen

Hurricane City Park and Valley Park will reopen today with social distancing guidelines in place, and no large groups are allowed. Gyms allowed to reopen on Monday

Gyms that have low contact sports training, like gymnastics facilities and dance studios, will be allowed to reopen on Monday at forty-percent capacity. Daily health screenings are required and more frequent cleaning of common touch points.

Free COVID-19 testing available in 10 WV counties

Free COVID-19 testing is available in ten West Virginia counties. The Herbert Henderson Office of Minority Affairs, the National Guard and state DHHR will conduct tests in Berkeley, Jefferson, Raleigh, and Mercer counties this weekend. Additional test sites will be set up in Cabell, Fayette, Kanawha, Marion, Mineral and Monongalia counties starting next week.
