Travelers at West Virginia airports may now utilize digital identification to get through checkpoints, according to the Transportation Security Administration. City of Charleston makes weather-related changes this week

Trash pickup in Charleston scheduled for Tuesday has been rescheduled for Saturday. Wednesday through Friday trash pickup is on schedule. Municipal Court will reconvene today (January 8). Charleston Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin’s state of the city address was moved from Monday to Thursday evening because of the weather.

A body is discovered in a burning car in Monongalia County

A man was found dead inside a burning vehicle Monday in Monongalia County. It happened near River Road and Lower Hildebrand Road, according to deputies. Winter storm causes power outages and accidents

Thousands were without power in West Virginia and Kentucky on Monday due to the winter storm. More than 36,000 Appalachian Power customers in West Virginia were reporting outages as of 6:45 a.m. Monday. That included more than 5,700 in Kanawha County.
