The BridgeValley Board of Governors plans to demolish four former West Virginia University Institute of Technology buildings in Montgomery, unless they can find a buyer. The board is only allowed to sell the properties for their appraised value, and no one wants to pay that price.

Sen. Capito a “no vote” on Supreme Court nominee

Senator Shelly Moore Capito will vote against confirming federal appeals court Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. Capito says she has concerns about how Jackson would rule in cases of government authority, specifically related to energy regulations and limitations of the president and Congress. Senator Joe Manchin is supporting Jackson’s nomination.

WV revenue on “a rocket ship ride”

West Virginia’s annual revenue collection is 740-million-dollars ahead of estimates. So far, this year, the state has collected almost four-billion-dollars, three-quarters of the way through the fiscal year. Governor Justice says, “not only are we on the rocket ship ride, we’re kicking back and really enjoying ourselves.” The fiscal years runs from July to July.

The West Virginia State University Board of Governors has named Ericke Cage as the university’s thirteenth president. Cage has been serving as interim president since last September.

Man arrested for stealing tablets from church

A man is under arrest for breaking into the Salem Baptist Church and stealing as many as a dozen tablets from the youth room, all of which had been donated by the Doddridge County Board of Education. The value of the tablets is around 12-hundred-dollars.

Jail van involved in head-on crash on I-77

A Jail van was involved in a head-on crash on I-77 near Kenna. The driver of the van lost control and ended up facing the wrong direction in the southbound lane and crashed into another car. Two deputies and a prisoner suffered minor injuries. The driver of the other vehicle wasn’t hurt.

Two people wanted for stealing pickups

Kanawha County deputies are looking for a man and a woman who stole two pickups in Elkview. The trucks were stolen from Diversified Oil and Gas on Koala Lane last weekend. One truck has been recovered, but police are still looking for a white 2004 GMC Sierra flatbed.
