Governor signs 2 bills protecting special needs students

Governor Jim Justice is signing two bills into law, aimed at protecting special needs students. The new law requires video cameras in all special education classrooms, and another law makes it a felony to abuse any child. The bills come in response to abuse at Holz Elementary School and Mann Middle School.

Stolen truck driver leads police on chase

A man driving a stolen truck led police on a 15-mile chase through Lincoln County. The truck was reported stolen in Cabell County, and instead of pulling over, the driver, Dustin Saul, took off. He crashed into a pole and fled on foot. Officers found him hiding in a pig pen.

Search continues for missing woman

The search continues for Grace Smith, who has been missing for more than a month. She was last seen on Three mile Road in Mason County. Her car and her belongings were found in the TNT area. There is a five-thousand-dollar reward for anyone with information about Smith’s whereabouts.

Marine’s remains return to U.S. soil

A U.S. Marine from Catlettsburg is among four marines whose remains were returned to U.S. soil after their deaths in a helicopter crash in Norway. All four were killed when their Osprey helicopter crashed during a training exercise with NATO allies.
