The state Senate approved a budget bill that closely mirrors the governor’s four-point-65-billion-dollar budget request. National Guard plans to leave hospital duty

Another sign that we might be turning the corner in the pandemic is that the National Guard is making plans to leave hospital duty. Since mid-January hundreds of guard members have been assisting with staff shortages at hospitals across the state. That tour of duty will end on March 11th.

Man leads police on pursuit across state-line

A man led police on a high-speed chase across state line, and one point reaching speeds of over one-hundred-miles-per-hour. It started in Mason County and ended when Cody Kinzel crashed into a telephone pole in Pomeroy. He hit at least one car on his way into Ohio. Kinzel is being treated for a head injury.

Reward offered for missing Mason County woman

There’s still no sign of a missing Mason County woman who disappeared over a week ago. Volunteers spent the day searching for Grace Smith in the McClintic Wildlife Management Area, where her car was found. The family is offering a five-thousand-dollar reward for information to help find Smith.

Postal worker attacked by dogs

A Putnam County postal worker was hurt when she was attacked by two dogs on Riffie Ridge Road in the Red House area. She suffered severe lacerations to her face, arms and chest, and is in stable condition. Both dogs were put down at the scene.
