Active COVID-19 cases continue to drop

There are almost four-hundred-thirty new COVID-19 cases statewide, and the number of active case dropped to just over 14-thousand. Active cases have dropped nearly every day for the past month. Three counties are in the red on the state’s COVID-19 alert map.

Gov. Justice wants to elimnate state income tax

Governor Justice began his fifth State of the State by reflecting on his first address, and lauding West Virginia’s success the last four years, including surpluses and improved roads. The governor is calling on lawmakers to repeal the state income tax by raising the sales tax, and increasing taxes on soda and tobacco.

Man arrested in death of Morgantown woman

A man is under arrest in the death of Alexa Randolph. Sixty-year-old Gary Smith is charged with first degree murder. Smith is the paternal grandfather of Randolph’s child. Her body was found last month in a Walmart parking lot in Morgantown.
