Burglary & fire in Dunlow

The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a burglary and fire in Wayne County. A home on Twelve Pole Creek in Dunlow caught fire. Investigators found evidence of a break-in to an out building on the property.

Arson fire under investigation in Cross Lanes

The state Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a break-in and arson in Cross Lanes. Someone broke in to an apartment on Walnut Valley Drive and set it on fire. No one was hurt. There is a five-thousand-dollar reward for information that leads to a conviction.

WV Marine killed in NC crash

One of the two Marines killed in North Carolina when a truck overturned was from West Virginia. Eighteen-year-old Zachary Riffle was from Kingwood. He and another soldier died when the truck they were riding in over turned and they were ejected near Camp Lejeune.

Jefferson House Fire Requires Several Fire Departments

Several fire departments responded to a house fire in the Jefferson area of Kanawha County early Thursday morning. A man from Putnam County has pleaded guilty to identity theft after he defrauded a bank and two senior citizens.
