Patients received diluted Pfizer vaccine at pharmacy

Davis Brothers Pharmacy will not administer COVID-19 vaccinations at its New Cumberland and Chester locations after an investigation into patients receiving overly-diluted doses of the Pfizer vaccine. State health officials are working with the pharmacy to contact patients who received the lower dose to get the revaccinated.

FirstEnergy Corp. seeking approval for solar projects

FirstEnergy Corporation is asking West Virginia regulators for permission to build five solar energy projects throughout the state. The company estimates the projects will generate fifty-megawatts of electricity. State law permits electric utilities to own and operate up to two-hundred-megawatts of renewable generation facilities. It would not displace the company’s current coal-fired generation capacity.

Syringes reused at Beckley clinic

Health officials are urging some patients at Mountain State Vascular clinic in Beckley to get blood test. The clinic reported that single-use syringes were used on more than one patient during certain invasive procedures. No infections have been reported. The employee who reused the syringes no long works at the clinic.

WV ski season starts this weekend

West Virginia ski season is underway. Snowshoe Mountain is open for the season with thirty-acres of terrain for skier and snowboarders, and three lifts are operating. This weekend is a preview weekend at Timberline Mountain. Winterplace and Canaan Valley Resort and scheduled to open in mid-December.

WV foodbanks received $500,000

Two West Virginia food bank are each receiving 500-thousand-dollars. Governor Justice presented checks to the Mountaineer Food bank and the Facing Hunger Foodbank. Huntington auto shop fire damages neighboring apartment building

The state Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a fire that ripped through a Huntington auto shop and damaged an apartment building next door. Two mechanics were working at the garage when the fire broke out. They tried to put it out themselves, but were unsuccessful. Everyone made it out safely.

Missing hunter found in Doddridge County

A missing hunter in Doddridge County has been found safe. The hunter was reported missing on Monday in the Grove Summers area. A large search party, including several K9s found the man walking near a county road in good spirits.

Man cited for hunting illegally

A Wirt County man was cited by Natural Resources Police after bragging on social media about killing a deer. The man shot the deer on a neighbor’s property without a hunting license. He’s charged with hunting illegally and trespassing on private property. The rack was seized and the suspect was issued citations.
