Kanawha County Commissioners want investigation into tax exoneration request

The West Virginia State Tax Department plans to formally investigate what led to an employee overtaxing a Kanawha County coal mining company more than 800-thousand-dollars. McCauley Sentenced to Life

The man who killed Berkeley Springs teenager Riley Crossman will spend the rest of his life behind bars. Andy McCauly was sentenced to life in prison without parole. Last month he was convicted of killing his girlfriend’s 15-year-old daughter two years ago.

Marshall University student hit and killed by SUV

Police are releasing the name of the Marshall student who was hit and killed by a vehicle. Twenty-two-year-old Maribeth Cox was hit by an SUV while trying to cross the street in the crosswalk at the intersection of Third Avenue and 18th Street in Huntington. An investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed.

Police investigating Huntington shooting

One person was killed in a shooting on 19th Street in Huntington. A neighbor reported hearing as many as four gunshots. Investigators are trying to find out what led up to the incident. No arrests have been made.
