WVU takes on a red-hot Iowa State team this afternoon at Milan Puskar Stadium. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.…Marshall begins the home stretch of its schedule, hosting Florida International at 3:30 this afternoon.

Former Intuit CEO will be next Marshall University President

Former Intuit CEO and Marshall alum Brad Smith will be the next President of Marshall University. The Board of Governors made the announcement this week. Current President Jerome Gilbert is accelerating his departure and will step down in December and remain in a supportive role in the new year.

Gov. Justice calling for vaccination and booster shots

Governor Justice is urging people to get vaccinations and get booster shots. Justice says as COVID-19 numbers continue to fall it’s sad that he had to recognize the death of more than one-hundred West Virginians since Tuesday. There are over 76-hundred active cases of the virus, and more than six-hundred people are in the hospital.

Gupta confirmed at new Drug Czar

Former state Health Officer Dr. Rahul Gupta is the new director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. WVU soccer wins 500th game

The WVU soccer team hit a milestone this week with it’s 500th win in program history. The Mountaineers beat Georgia State 2-to-1 on Thursday. WVU will visit Georgia Southern Sunday before returning home to conclude the regular season against Bowling Green on Nov. 4.

Revitalization Coming to Martinsburg

An 80-million dollar investment is expected to be a huge spark for development in Martinsburg. A Richmond, Virginia company will rehabilitate a 12-acre complex along King Street. The former Interwoven Mill and Perfection Garment Company will become home to 400 apartments and a commercial district.

I-64 bridge repair begins Sunday

WV State Police looking for bank robber

State police are looking for a man involved in a bank robbery in Greenbrier County. A man flashed a silver revolver and demanded money from the tellers at the Summit Community Bank in Rupert.
