Gov. Justice urging people to get booster shot

Governor Justice is urging anyone over eighteen who had the Pfizer vaccine more than six-months ago got get a booster shot. About twenty-percent of people in the hospital are fully vaccinated. Justice says that number is directly linked to the need for boosters as the effectiveness of the vaccines wane.

WV COVID-19 numbers decline

West Virginia’s active COVID-19 cases continue to fall, dropping to just over eleven-thousand. Health officials are reporting just over one-thousand new cases in the past 24-hours. Hospitalizations are down to under nine-hundred, and no new deaths were reported over the weekend.

Marshall University unveils Hal Greer statue

Marshall University unveiled a statue honoring basketball legend Hal Greer. The nearly eight-foot bronze statue is located next to the Cam Henderson Center in Huntington. Special session starts Monday

State lawmakers are in special session today to complete the redistricting process and allocate millions of dollars in federal funding. Governor Justice’s agenda include over thirty items, with the most attention on redistricting efforts, but most of the bills being considered are proposed supplements to the state budget that add up to about one-billion-dollars.

Yuma Suites building destroyed in fire

Fire destroyed a building just south of Logan at the Yuma Suites on Route-44. No one was hurt. The building was not in use and is a total loss. A neighboring structure was also. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
