Yeager Airport gets grant to beef up security

Yeager Airport is increasing security with a 195-thousand-dollar grant from the state Emergency Management Division. The airport will add a gunshot detection system in the main terminal building and the General Aviation terminal that will provide a faster response to an active shooter incident.

A man was shot and killed during a road rage incident in Williamson. Woman hit by vehicle on Central Ave.

One person was injured after being hit by a vehicle on Central Avenue on the west side. The person was trying to cross the street when they were hit. The victim’s condition has not been released.

Woman shot and killed on west side

A woman was shot and killed early this morning in the three-hundred block of Hunt Avenue on Charleston’s west side. Police responded to a shots fired call and found the woman, but were unable to save her. No one is in custody.

Fall foliage starting to peak in higher elevations

The season’s first fall foliage report is out. The West Virginia Tourism Office says there is a high rate of leaves brightening in the state’s higher elevations. Tucker County is reporting 80-percent of color with their peak expected this weekend.
