WV COVID-19 numbers hit record highs

West Virginia’s COVID-19 numbers continue to climb with nearly 24-hunderd new cases of the virus in the past 24-hours, a new pandemic record. There are 24-thousand active cases, which is also a record breaking number. Eight-five-percent of patients in the hospital are not vaccinated.

Marshall’s home opener tonight

Marshall University’s home opener is tonight at 6:30 against North Carolina Central. Joan C. Edwards Stadium is expected to be sold out. A new pregame fan festival called Thunder Street will kick off at 2:30 this afternoon with music and food vendors.

Beckley man facing murder charge

A Beckley man is under arrest for sexually assaulting and killing a woman after her remains were found in a wooded are off New River Drive. She was reported missing last month. Forty-year-old Ronald McClung is facing murder charges.

PSC will reconsider $48 million request for power plant upgrades

The Public Service Commission will take another look at a request from Appalachian Power and Wheeling Power to have West Virginia customers pay 48-million-dollars annually for upgrades to the John Amos, Mountaineer, and Mitchell coal-fired generating plants.
