Justice family settles with Carter Bank & Trust

The Justice family has reached a settlement with longtime lender Carter Bank and Trust. Both parties are asking that a federal lawsuit be dismissed. Governor Justice says he is very pleased with the final outcome. No details have been released.

More than 700 patients hospitalized with COVID-19

State InterAgency Task Force Director Jim Hoyer says that West Virginia is about to hit a “really bad patch.” There are over seven-hundred COVID-19 patients in the hospital, and over two-hundred in intensive care. Active COVID-19 cases are over 18-thousand.

Fireworks at Live on the Levee will affect traffic

Fireworks at Live on the Levee will affect traffic on both sides of the river tonight. Parts of Kanawha Boulevard will be shut down starting at 3:00 p.m., and Starting at 7:00 p.m. Porter Road and MacCorkle Avenue will shut down to westbound traffic.

New distribution center coming to Teay’s Valley

Construction is under way on a new Frito-Lay distribution center in Teays Valley. The 70-thousand-square-foot facility is expected to be done in the spring. The center is bringing both construction jobs, and daily operations once it’s complete. Eight subcontractors are working on the building. Half of them are local companies.

Woman found in trash truck dies

State Troopers are investigating after a woman was found in the back of a trash truck. Investigators believe she was trying to get out of the rain earlier this week and crawled into a dumpster in the Stollings area. She died at the hospital.

Long-term care facilities were once ground zero for COVID-19 outbreaks and community spread, but West Virginia’s data shows the number of active cases inside facilities is slowly trending down.
