WV hospitals filling up with unvaccinated people

Major General James Hoyer says unvaccinated West Virginians are filling up hospital beds at an unsustainable rate. More than five-hundred people are hospitalized with the virus, and there are almost twelve-thousand active cases statewide. Twenty-four counties are red and twenty-six counties are orange on the COVID-19 alert map.

CAMC requiring employees to get vaccinated

Charleston Area Medical Center is requiring all employees to get the COVID-19 vaccination. Workers will have to provide proof of vaccination by October 15th. The hospital says about 65-percent of its roughly eight-thousand workers are already vaccinated.

Deer testing positive for COVID-19 antibodies

Boy locked in trunk is improving

A five-year-old Cottageville boy who was found locked in the trunk of a car is off a ventilator and doing better at Women and children’s Hospital. His parents are charged with child neglect. Three other children were removed from the home.

Morrisey says Purdue Pharma settlement isn’t fair to WV

State Attorney General Patrick Morrisey was in U.S. Bankruptcy Court during closing arguments in the Purdue Pharma bankruptcy case. West Virginia is opposing a plan on how money from the maker of OxyContin should be distributed. Morrisey says it’s unfair to split up the more than four-billion-dollar settlement based on population.

Building Closed as a Precaution After a Gas Meter Was Hit

The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department was closed for about fifteen minutes Wednesday morning after a vehicle hit a gas meter near the building. Metro 911 said the incident happened around 11 a.m. The building is located on Lee Street in Charleston. The fire department checked the building and advised that it could reopen.

Cabell County Ambulance is Involved in a Crash

One person is in the hospital after an accident involving a Cabell County ambulance. The accident happened at the 5th Street intersection, right before the I-64 entrance Tuesday evening. Dispatchers said the ambulance and another vehicle were involved in the crash. There were no patients in the ambulance.
