News Staff Marshall University’s Bill Noe Flight School is officially open at Yeager Airport. Charleston Mayor Amy Goodwin was on hand to help cut the ribbon for the new hangar and classroom. Two-hundred students a year are expected to enroll in the program.
A federal appeals court has ruled that a West Virginia man, charged with assaulting a Capitol Police Officer during the January 6th riot, can be released on bond while he awaits trial. The ruling says George Tanios does not pose a danger to the community.
President Biden is announcing eight nominees for U.S attorney positions, including two from West Virginia. State Senator William Ihlenfeld would serve as U.S. Attorney for the Northern District, and Circuit Court Judge William Thompson for the Southern District. The U.S. Senate has to confirm both nominations.

Marshall University will require masks for everyone in all indoor spaces, regardless of vaccination status. The mask mandate goes into effect today. Masks will not be required in residence hall rooms or personal office space.
