Enrollment in virtual learning program falls

West Virginia Students will return to the classroom next week, but some will continue learning from home. Thirty-five-hundred students enrolled in the virtual learning program in 2020. This year, that number has dropped to 550 students.

Clarksburg Water Board distributing drinking water

The Clarksburg Water Board is distributing bottled water and filters to customers with known or suspected lead pipes. The board is distributing over 15-hundred cases of water from the West Virginia Department of Homeland Security Division of Emergency Management.

Applications being excepted for American Rescue Plan funds

The Kanawha County Commission is launching an application process for any group or organization that wants to receive funds from the American Rescue Plan. The commission has received the first half of over 34-million-dollars in funding. The money can be used for infrastructure and economic development programs.

Charleston mayor honored for work in government

Charleston Mayor Amy Goodwin is being honored for her work in government. She received the Lydia Main Breaking Boundaries Award at the West Virginia Municipal League Conference in Wheeling. The award recognizes women in government.

Health Officials Continue to Urge Getting the Vaccine

NCAA Issues Vaccination Guidelines for Fall Sports

The NCAA released its COVID-19 guidelines for fall sports this week, including football, cross country, soccer and volleyball. Fully vaccinated players and coaches will avoid testing unless they become symptomatic or have had close contract with someone who tests positive. Another Pharmaceutical Trial is Set for April

West Virginia will go to trial next year against Teva Pharmaceuticals, Endo Health Solutions, and Johnson and Johnson next year. The Wayne County Fair is Back

There was no fair in Wayne County last year due to COVID-19, but it’s back this year. The rides, live music, pageant, 4-H exhibits, food and more are set up at Camden Park in Huntington and gates open at noon each day. Tomorrow is the last day for the fair.

Charleston used car prices sky rocket

Governor Justice says he’s not ready to quit, and he says he is disappointed in the lack of federal help to keep the former Mylan Pharmaceutical plant open. The Governor says he is working like crazy to find another company to operate the plant and save 14-hundred jobs.
