Kanawha County Commission wants to hold Suddenlink accountable

The Public Service Commission has received more than 19-hundred complaints about Suddenlink. County Commissioners are filing a request to intervene in the PSC’s investigation into the area’s leading cable and internet provider, and are asking the legislature to change the law that regulates the internet service.

Kanawha County Schools hiring

Kanawha County Schools is looking to fill 150 to 200 new positions that are being created as part of the American Rescue Plan. The district will provide help to students academically, as well as, socially and emotionally by opening up new positions for counselors, psychologists, and teachers.

A Verdict in the Opioid Trial May Not Be Quick

Demolition Process is Underway on a Former Motel in Ravenswood

Demolition work got underway Wednesday on fire-gutted apartments in Ravenswood the city had been battling to raze. WCHS TV reported that in March, firefighters responded to a blaze at the former Washington Motel. Two people were transported to the hospital. Nicholas County Schools Won’t Require Masks

No one hurt in Chemours Plant explosion

No one was hurt in an explosion at the Chemours Plant in Belle. It happened in a furnace that was down for maintenance. No chemicals were involved. An investigation into what cause the failure is underway.

Yeager Airport gets new name

Yeager Airport is getting a new name. Beginning in 2022 it will be known as West Virginia International Yeager Airport. The international tag is appropriate with the addition of a U.S. customs Building at Yeager in December.
