Man wanted in double shooting

A woman is dead and a man is in critical condition after a shooting at a home on Stockton Street. A warrant has been issued for 38-year-old Christopher Smith. He got into a fight with the victims over stolen property when he pulled out a gun and started shooting and then took off on foot.

Health officials consider mask recommendations

Coronavirus Czar Dr. Clay Marsh says it’s taking a little longer for the Delta variant to hit in West Virginia, but intensive care cases and people on vents are on the rise. Mask recommendations are under consideration, and officials may suggest a booster shot for anyone with a suppressed immune system.

Masks Recommended for Unvaccinated Students in Ohio

Ohio’s Chief Medical Officer Bruce Vanderhoff recommends masking for unvaccinated students and staff members at school this fall, especially indoors. He said while children may be at a lesser-risk than adults, hundreds of Ohio children have had severe complications in connection with the virus. Full back-to-school guidance is coming this week.
