Car Hits a Putnam County Restaurant

Putnam County deputies are investigating after a vehicle crashed into a restaurant at Liberty Square Tuesday morning. Putnam 911 dispatchers said the vehicle crashed into Applebee’s just after 11:30 a.m. and there were no injuries. The investigation continues into the cause of the crash.

Police officer stuck with needle

A Milton police officer was stuck with a used needle during a drug bust at a house on McGee Street. Officers say there were needles all over the home where five kids were living. Three people are under arrest. The officer was taken to the hospital to get checked out.

Both sides in the landmark opioid trial have rested after eight weeks of testimony. Cabell County and the city of Huntington filed suit against AmerisourceBergen, Cardinal Health and McKesson, accusing them of fueling the opioid crisis. Closing arguments are scheduled for July 27th and 28th.
