West Side residents are calling for more enforcement after the latest shooting reported Monday. Police said Dana Stevenson shot at Tracy Jackson in the 800 block of Central Avenue after Jackson made a “hand gesture” toward Stevenson. The National Youth Science Camp will be a virtual event again this year. One-hundred-forty delegates from across the U.S. and twelve other countries take part in the program that focuses on science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Organizers hope students will be able return to Camp Pocahontas next year.
West Virginia state parks will spend over forty-million-dollars in infrastructure improvements. The state will build 230 new campsites. Twenty new cabins are going in at Coopers Rock State Forest and 25 new tree house cabins will be built at Beech Fork State Park.
