The State of California is adding West Virginia to the list of places where state-funded travel is banned due to laws they find discriminatory toward the LGBTQ community. Governor Justice recently signed a bill banning transgender athletes from competing in women’s sports.

West Virginia health officials have identified a dozen cases of the COVID-19 delta variant. Health officials are concerned about the delta variant because it is more contagious, and increases the risk of hospitalization.

Improving bus safety with LED stop sign

Kanawha County Schools is hoping to improve bus safety. The district is conducting a study with an LED stop sign arm that is easier for drivers to see. More than 450 drivers illegally pass stopped school buses every school day in West Virginia.

Huntington police investigating two shootings

Huntington police are investigating two separate shootings within a half-hour of each other. A man was shot and 17th Street and the second shooting happened around Jefferson Avenue and West 10th Street. There’s no word on the condition of the victims.

Two men arrested for stealing $80,000 in gear from pipeline company

Two men are under arrest for stealing 80-thousand-dollars’ worth of gear from a Fairlane pipeline company. The thieves stole three side-by-sides, a trailer and an industrial welder. Police were able to track them down quickly, because one of the suspects was on home confinement and wearing a GPS ankle bracelet.
