COVID-19 cases drop to less than 2,000

Active COVID-19 cases dropped below two-thousand for the first time in over a year. Hospitalizations are less than one-hundred, that’s the lowest number since last July. Over fifty-percent of state residents twelve and older are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

WV lawmakers return for special session

State lawmakers return for a special session today to consider allocating 250-million-dollars to various state agencies. The money comes current year budget surplus funds. The fiscal year ends June 30th, and state law requires any surplus carried into the new fiscal year be put into the Rainy Day Fund, which is already at record levels.

A new study shows that Yeager Airport has a 225-million-dollar impact on the West Virginia economy. The Aviation Economic Impact Study shows that Yeager is responsible for about three-thousand jobs in the Mountain State. More than 87-thousand visitors came through the airport in 2019.

Cross Lanes daycare worker accused of abusing 2-year-old

A Cross Lanes daycare worker is accused of grabbing a two year old boy’s face and neck, and pushing him to the ground. The parents are filing a lawsuit against Cross Lanes Childcare and Learning Center. A former employee reported more than forty abuse claims to DHHR.
