Yak Fest returns to St. Albans this weekend. There is food and music all day today. The Tour de Coal kicks of this morning in Tornado. Kayaks will go in the water at 7:30.

Downtown shooting under investigation

Police are investigating an early morning shooting at the intersection of Court Street and Quarrier Street. One person was hurt. The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition. No arrests have been made.

State lawmakers will return to Charleston for a special session next week. Governor Justice is asking lawmakers to approved 250-million-dollars in budget surplus money for various projects. Juneteenth declared state holiday

West Virginia state workers have the day off today in observance of Juneteenth. Governor Justice issued a proclamation declaring Juneteenth as a state holiday. City of Charleston and Kanawha County offices will also be closed. Juneteenth celebrates the end of slavery in the United States.
