Jeff O’Malley will serve as interim athletic director. Hamrick will serve as a special assistant to the president. A Charleston lawyer was killed this week in a car crash on I-79 in Braxton County. Sean McGinley was killed when a vehicle crossed the median and hit his vehicle near Servia. The other driver is recovering at Braxton Memorial hospital.
Huntington police are still looking for a three-month-old girl who hasn’t been seen in more than a month. The baby’s father says he turned her over to CPOS workers earlier in May, but CPS does not have the child and has no record of the man turning the girl over to anyone in the agency.
Greenup County police are investigating a report of a possible bomb found in the front yard of a home on Whetstone Road between Greenup and South Shore. A bomb squad from Frankfurt responded to the scene. No one was hurt.

A 43-year-old man died in a mining accident in Raleigh County. The victim was hit by an underground shuttle car at the Horse Creek Eagle Mine. It’s the second fatal mining accident in West Virginia this week.
