Work resumes near Nitro/St. Albans bridge

The Donald Legg Memorial Bridge widening project continues this week. Expect delays on I-64 near St. Albans. Crews will be clearing vegetation and installing erosion control measures on the east bound exit ramp.

COVID-19 cases reach record high

DHHR is confirming a pandemic high, nearly 19-hundred new cases of COVID-19, and thirty-six more people have died. The number of counties in the red on the state’s alert map went down to forty-one of Fifty-five. The daily positive test rate dipped to under seven-percent.

1,000 people vaccinated at mass clinic

More than a thousand people got the COVID-19 vaccine at a mass clinic at the Charleston coliseum and Convention Center. First responders, government workers, and anyone 80-years-old or older can get the vaccine.

WVBOE considering return to in-person instruction Jan. 19th

The West Virginia Board of Education is considering a return to full, in-person instruction beginning January 19th, but counties that want to continue blended instruction can do so until all school employees are vaccinated. The Board says many county school systems have indicated they want to return to in-person instruction five-days-a-week as soon as possible.
