A Floyd County man is under arrest after he shot his parents and barricaded himself inside their home. Twenty-three-year-old Kenny Chaffins surrendered after several hours. His parents are expected to survive.

The Huntington City Council has elected new leaders for 2021. The council elected Jennifer Wheeler for chairwoman and Mike Shockley for vice chairman during a special meeting on Monday. This will be Wheeler’s first year as chairwoman of Huntington City Council. Her district includes Southside and Harveytown.

Funeral arrangements have been announced for a veteran Kanawha County judge. Circuit Court Judge Charles King died Dec. 28 at the age of 73 after a long illness.
