The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after two pickups, a trailer and other equipment were stolen from the Seminole Coal complex in Powelltown. The theft happened between December 22nd and 28th. Police are looking for a green and a red Ford F250 with Ohio tags.
A suspect is under arrest after a standoff with Huntington police. Sixty-five-year-old Patrick Elliott is accused of firing three shots into a neighbor’s home. No one was hurt. Officers persuaded Elliot to drop the gun, and he was taken into custody without incident.
One person is in the hospital after a shooting in the unincorporated area of Milliken. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries. No arrests have been made.

Kanawha County Commissioners are asking the state Department of Transportation to take immediate action to repair a rockslide at Blue Creek Road. The hillside slipped again on Christmas Eve, blocking the roadway and trapping six-hundred residents.
The City of Charleston will hear public comments on dedicating Garrison Avenue in honor of Patrolman Cassie Johnson, who was killed in the line of duty on the street. Instead of renaming Garrison Avenue, an honorary dedication will be below every Garrison Avenue street sign.
