West Virginia high schools will get four-million-dollars from a newly created Extracurricular Equity Fund for athletic programs and other extracurricular activities to replace loses and fill budget gaps created by the pandemic. Governor Justice says more than eighty-percent of nursing home residents are opting for the vaccination, but just over sixty-percent of staff is electing to have the vaccination. Justice says, “That isn’t good enough,” vouched for the vaccines safety and effectiveness. More than ten-thousand West Virginians have already received the vaccine.

Charleston police are investigating after a man was found dead on Wertz Avenue. Twenty-year-old Nathaniel Spivey was found lying in the road with multiple gunshot wounds. Firefighters attempted lifesaving measures, but he died at the scene. No arrests have been made.
