Dunbar Mayor-Elect, Scott Elliott, accidentally shot himself in the arm in a hunting accident. He’s in the hospital with what the sheriff’s office says is a serious, but not life-threatening injury. It’s the second hunting accident this week. Another hunter was injured on Monday when a gun went off while it was being unloaded.

Firefighters battled a house fire on 5th Avenue. No one was home when the blaze broke out. Nearby buildings were also damaged. Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire.
A man was injured in a house fire on the East End. He jumped from the second story of the burning house on Beauregard Street. A second man was seen running from the scene. City officials boarded up the home and marked it condemned in October. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
