A lawsuit to stop the governor’s mask mandate has been thrown out. A U.S. District Judge ruled that Governor Justice acted appropriately in making mask wearing mandatory.

Senator Shelly Moore Capito is among a growing list of Republicans encouraging President Trump to start the transition process. Capito’s statement came hours before the head of the U.S. General Services Administration contacted President-elect Biden regarding resources related to the transition.

One person was injured in a house fire in South Point. The house on County Road-15 was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived. The victim is in stable condition. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A man is under arrest after leading police on a chase in a stolen vehicle in Cabin Creek. The chase ended when he came to a dead end on Bullitt Street. The suspect tried to flee on foot, but an officer tackled and took him into custody.

A man was shot and wounded in a hunting accident in Cedar Grove. He was shot by another hunter along Branch Freeze Road. The victim is expected to be okay.

A twenty-year-old man died in a mining accident at the American Eagle Mine in Dawes. He was killed when he hit a waterline underground.

A Kanawha County judge is ordering South Charleston High School Principal Gabe King to be replaced by Kim Williams. She was passed over for the job, despite being more the more qualified candidate. The judge ruled that she was the victim of “discrimination, favoritism and bias.”
