WV National Guard increasing response to COVID-19

FEMA has approved the West Virginia National Guard’s request to increase the number of personnel responding to the pandemic. Four-hundred Guard members are now part of the response, and the federal government will reimburse the National Guard for 75-percent of the cost.

200 new cases of COVID-19 in WV

There are more than two-hundred new cases of COVID-19 in West Virginia, and five more people have died. Officials say two nurses recently died from COVID-19 complications.

Man killed in tank explosion

A man was killed in a tank explosion in Jefferson. He was an employee at a wielding and fabrication plant. He was welding a tank on a vehicle and some leftover fuel caused the explosion.

Woman pleads guilty to faking death

A woman accused of conspiring with her husband to fake her death at the New River Gorge is pleading guilty to conspiracy to obstruct justice. After two days of searching, police four 44-year-old Julie Wheeler hiding in a closet in her house. She faces up to five-years in prison.
