The West Virginia Education Association is filing a lawsuit challenging the state’s COVID-19 alert map. The union says the map has been altered repeatedly to achieve an end result, and a county can be in the red or green, depending on which method is used.

Kanawha County moving to full week classes

The Kanawha County Board of Education voted to skip a second week of blended learning, and instead, transition to five days of in-person learning starting October 12th. Around 13-thousand students will return to the classroom.

New paving project in Nitro

Governor Justice announced an over two-mile road paving project that will start next week on First Avenue in Nitro. The over eight-hundred-thousand-dollar project will be funded through the governor’s Roads to Prosperity program.
