There are no counties in the “red” on the latest color-coded county alert system map. Kanawha, Putnam and Mingo counties moved into “orange” status, meaning those counties have fewer than 25 COVID-19 cases per 100-thousand.
Three more people have died from COVID-19 in Kanawha County, and there are 120 new cases of the virus statewide, and almost 35-hundred active cases. The state’s daily positive test rate is over three-percent.
Governor Justice wants everyone in West Virginia to get tested for COVID-19. To prove how easy it is, he live streamed himself getting tested. The Governor announced a plan to send the National Guard into counties that are in the “red” and the “orange” to conduct more widespread testing.
