Health officials in Kanawha County reported 18 new cases of the coronavirus Saturday and 14 on Sunday. There are more than 300 active cases and the number of recoveries in the county is now 359.

Marquee Cinemas is temporarily closing its doors again. The movie theater has locations across West Virginia, including South Charleston, Huntington, and Parkersburg and closed in March, but reopened in last month. The company says a lack of new movies hurt the cinema’s ability to stay open.
There are 145 new cases of COVID-19 in West Virginia, bringing the total to almost 57-hundred. The death toll remains at 103. More than seventy-five people are hospitalized with the virus, with almost forty in intensive care.
Justice says he’s concerned about the spread of Covid-19 from areas surrounding the state, including Pittsburgh, Columbus, and Baltimore. Federal officials have identified about a dozen cities that need aggressive action to slow the spread of the virus.

He says there will likely be another stimulus for people who are still unemployed, and he says there will be more money to make sure schools are safe. The state has almost 680-million-dollars in CARES Act money set aside to back-fill unemployment compensation.
