Deputies Cleared in Fatal Shooting

Deputies were cleared of any wrongdoing in a shootout in West Virginia that killed a man. WVU will retire Thorn’s number-44

Another number-44 will be hanging in the rafters at WVU Coliseum. Ron Thorn will be honored in February with a number retirement ceremony. Thorn was a Mountaineer from 1961 to 1963. His number 44 will share space with Jerry West’s number-44 and Hot Rod Hundley’s number-33.

Record fish caught in WV waters

Two West Virginia fishermen have caught record-setting fish. Zachary Adkins caught a 59-pound grass carp in Warden Lake and Justin Conner caught a 58-pound blue catfish in the Ohio River. Both fish broke the stat record length by more than two-inches.

Nails found on the road in Greenup County

More than one-thousand nails were scattered nearly 5 miles on both lanes of state Route 503 and Bates Hollow Road in Greenup County. Road crews were able to clean up the nails, and there was only one report of a flat tire. Investigators believe the nails were dropped on purpose.

ATVs allowed on the streets in Clay

You can now drive ATVs on the streets in Clay. New permits allow the 4-wheelers on the town roads. City officials hope it will bring more tourists to town. ATV riders will be able to come off the trail and refuel, get food, and find a place to stay for the night.
