Police looking for missing teenager

State Police are looking for a missing teenage girl. Fifteen-year-old Caitlyn Hamilton was last seen leaving a home on Falls Creek Road near Tornado. She’s believed to be in the Tornado or St. Albans are, but has not contacted friends or family.

Swimmer hit by a boat in the Tygart River

Police and DNR officers are looking for a boat that was involved in a hit-and-run on the Tygart River. The boat hit a 22-year-old swimmer and took off toward the Benton’s Ferry Bridge. Witnesses say there were five men aboard. The swimmer is in serious condition at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Two men arrested for chasing and shooting at car

Two men are charged with attempted murder after chasing and shooting at a vehicle. Thirty-year-old Corey Perkins and 24-year-old Robert Barner followed on car on Route-60 from St. Albans to Hurricane and fired multiple shots. No one in the other car was hurt.

Broadcaster & Legislator, Shirley Love, passes away

Former West Virginia Legislator and local TV personality, Shirley Love, has passed away at 87-years-old. He served one term in the House of Delegates and in the West Virginia Senate for over ten years. He was well known for hosting Saturday Night Wrestling on TV.

Masks required at GoMart

GoMart is joining a growing list of companies requiring customers to wear face masks inside their stores. The company says it is enhancing cleaning and disinfection efforts, and social distancing. GoMart has more than one-hundred-twenty locations across West Virginia, Virginia, and Ohio.

Pandemic draining county health departments

The pandemic is taking a toll on West Virginia’s county health departments. More than half the county health departs in the state have less than 90-days of perating money on hand. Some officials are worried they will be short on cash with flu season looming in the fall.

More than 100 new COVID-19 cases

There are more than 125 new cases of COVID-19 in West Virginia, for a total of almost 48-hundred. The death toll remains at one-hundred. The state’s positive test rate climbed to two-point-fifteen-percent.
