Homeless man pleads guilty to smashing glasses and plates

Jeffery Havis pleaded guilty to attempted unlawful wounding for smashing glasses and plates on a table outside the Tidewater Grill last summer. Havis is homeless, and became violent when two women sitting on the patio wouldn’t give him money. He faces up to three years in prison.

Man accused of firing at officers

A Barbour County man is accused of firing shots at officers and barricading himself inside a Philippi home. Forty-year-old Brianna Watson is charged with attempted murder of a police officer.
