Governor Justice is shutting down visits to nursing homes, again. Nearly thirty nursing homes in the state are dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks and the death toll continues to rise.

Testimony continues in Hardin rape trial

Testimony continues in the rape trial of 22-year-old Chase Hardin. He’s accused of sexually assaulting two women in 2018. The jury will continue hearing from witnesses when the trial resumes this morning.

Kanawha County parents choose in-person learning

The majority of families in Kanawha County prefer in-person learning. Just over 50-percent opted for in-person learning, nearly 30-percent chose the Schoology (skoo-luh-jee) eLearning option, and less than 20-percent chose the virtual plan.

Protestors call for change in school reopening plan

The West Virginia Board of Education held a meeting to discuss back to school plans, and addressed some concerns about special education and mental health. The meeting was met with a protest from a group called the “Our Students First Coalition.” The group says the Department of Education guidelines, “just aren’t good enough.”

Charleston Bridge to Close for Repairs

The Southside Bridge in Charleston will be temporarily closing this weekend while crews make repair work. The bridge will be shut down from 9 p.m. Friday through 4:30 a.m. Monday.
